Vogel is one of the most spectacular paragliding take-off points in Slovenia. First, take the cable car from Ukanc to the upper Vogel cable car station, then walk to the lowest take-off point which is recommended in light westerly winds.
The Orlove glave quad chairlift takes you to the second take-off point, about 100 metres to the east from the top of the chairlift. This one is particularly recommended, and it is also perfect in winter time.
There is another take-off point above Žagarjev graben, south-west from the top of Orlove glave, where flying is only recommended in light winds or still conditions.
In favourable weather conditions, it is possible to fly above the northern slopes of the Bohinj mountains, but because of the high altitude, scenic flights and local paragliding are equally as interesting.

A paragliding course consists of theoretical and practical components, and takes 5 days, from 15 to 20 hours. The participants make approximately 20 flights with a 30- to 150-metre difference in altitude. After successfully completing the program and passing the final test, each participant is issued with a certificate and a category L licence.
This course is for those who wish to take their first steps in paragliding. The course takes 3-4 hours in a ‘nursery’ area. The participant begins to understand paragliding techniques and makes 2 to 3 flights with a length of 20-40m.
