Vogel lies in the heart of the Julian Alps within the boundary of the Triglav National Park, one of the oldest national parks in Europe. It covers as much as 880 square kilometres or 4% of the territory of Slovenia. Two thirds of the Bohinj Municipality also lies within the area of the Triglav National Park. This is why Slovenia’s only national park is so important for both the development and the preservation of the area.
The Triglav National Park is home to some plants and animals unique to this region. It prides itself on its crystal-clear waters, picturesque gorges and extremely rich biodiversity, as well as an interesting history and cultural landscape that promises many adventures every step of your way.
In addition, the rugged terrain with its exceptional characteristics is also a rich source of inspiration for different outdoor activities for both beginners and professional athletes.
For more information please visit the Triglav National Park official website.
